The Recover beat

Pros don't skip the cold.

Athletes use cold after training and warmth before it. Now both live in your freezer.

Cold could be the oldest trick in sport for taking the heat out of a hard-working knee.

FAQ

What is ThermaFlex for?

It's a recovery accessory for people who train: cold after a session to soothe worked muscles, warmth before one to help them loosen up. It's not a medical device and it doesn't treat injuries.

Cold or heat: which should I use?

Cold after training, when muscles feel hot and tired. Heat before training, or when you feel stiff, to help muscles loosen up. For a fresh injury, sharp pain or swelling, see a professional first.

Which size should I choose?

Use the size finder in Find your fit: pick the zone, measure around the widest part of it, and slide to your number. For a knee, measure just above it, where the thigh muscle meets the knee; for an ankle, around the ankle bones. The sleeve works best with a light stretch, so between two sizes take the larger one. As a guide: thigh XL, knee or calf L, elbow, forearm or ankle S–M.

Will it stay on when I walk around?

It is made for the twenty minutes you spend off your feet. The fit that lets the gel work best is a light stretch: it holds lying down or sitting, and it will slide if you stand up. If you want a firmer hold on the move, the size finder shows the firmer size for your measurement.

How long does it stay cold?

Coldest in the first ten minutes, and still clearly cool against your skin at twenty. That is why we suggest a twenty-minute session: long enough for the ritual, short enough to fit before dinner. Give it at least two hours in the freezer first.

Can I heat it?

Yes, from room temperature: 30 seconds in the microwave, flip, 10 more, then knead and test it on the inside of your wrist. Never heat it straight from the freezer, and never heat a damaged sleeve.

Does cold remove lactic acid?

No, and it doesn't need to: your body clears lactate within about an hour after exercise, and it isn't what makes you sore the next day. People use cold because it feels soothing on tired muscles, and that's what ThermaFlex is for.

Does it stay flexible when frozen?

The solid gel is designed to stay pliable, so the sleeve bends with the joint instead of fighting it.

Can I wear it under clothing?

Under loose layers, yes. It has some substance. Think joggers, not skinny jeans.

Is ThermaFlex a medical device?

No. It is a recovery accessory for people who move. It does not treat, cure, or prevent anything. If you have a medical condition, or concerns about circulation or sensation, ask a professional before using cold or heat.

Where does it ship from, and how fast?

From our fulfilment partner's warehouse outside the US, tracked from dispatch. Orders are usually processed within 1–2 business days; your delivery estimate shows at checkout. Import duties for US orders are included: nothing to pay on delivery.

What if I order the wrong size?

We can't exchange or take back a sleeve for size: a gel sleeve costs too much to ship twice. That is why the size finder asks for one measurement, names your size, and tells you which to take if you are between two. Not sure? Email support@getrenavo.com before you order and we'll size you.

What does the 30-day guarantee cover?

The sleeve itself. If it arrives damaged or turns out faulty, a leak, a split seam, anything that isn't right, email support@getrenavo.com within 30 days of delivery with a photo and we refund it. It doesn't cover size or change of mind.

Before first use

How to use it, safely.

Read this once before your first freeze or your first heat.

Read the full use and safety guideadd
Cold

From the freezer

  1. Two hours in the freezer.Lay the sleeve flat in a freezer set between 5 °F and −4 °F (−15 to −20 °C) for at least two hours. It goes in at room temperature, never still warm.
  2. Check it before it goes on.Ice crystals on the lining? Wipe them off and wait until none are left. Then touch it to the inside of your wrist.
  3. 15 to 20 minutes, then off.Too cold on bare skin? Wear it over a thin layer of fabric. Take it off at once if it stings or the skin turns numb or pale.
Heat

From the microwave

  1. Start at room temperature.Never microwave a sleeve that is frozen or still cold. Let it warm up by itself first.
  2. 30 seconds on high.Flip it, then 10 seconds more. Stay by the microwave while it heats.
  3. Knead, then test on your wrist. Not warm enough? Add 10 seconds at a time, kneading and testing each time.
  4. Warm, never hot. 15 to 20 minutes. If the sleeve swells, has hot spots or leaks, stop using it.

Between cold and heat

Never straight from one to the other. Not from the freezer into the microwave, and not from the microwave into the freezer. Let the sleeve come back to room temperature by itself first. For example: warm it before your run, let it cool to room temperature, put it in the freezer, and come back to a sleeve that is chilled and ready.

Never

  • Straight from the freezer into the microwave, or from the microwave into the freezer
  • On broken, irritated or numb skin, a fresh injury or heavy swelling
  • While you sleep, or for more than 20 minutes at a time
  • On children, or on anyone who can't feel heat or cold or take it off themselves
  • In an oven, on a stove, in hot water or under a hairdryer: microwave only
  • If it is torn, leaking or swollen: throw it away
  • Together with heat rubs or numbing creams

Storage

Keep it at room temperature and freeze it for two hours when you need it. Left in the freezer around the clock, the gel can wear out sooner, and we can't promise it will perform as long as it should. Store it flat, away from heat and sharp edges.

Care

Wipe with a damp cloth and air-dry flat. No washing by hand or machine, no bleach, dry-cleaning, tumble-drying or ironing.

If the gel gets out

Stop using the sleeve. On skin: wash with soap and water. In eyes: rinse with water for several minutes. Swallowing the gel is strictly prohibited. Keep it away from children and pets.

ThermaFlex is a recovery accessory, not a medical device. Circulation or sensation concerns, or any medical condition? Ask a doctor before using cold or heat.
